We are delighted to welcome Amy Howe to the Diocese of Leeds as a Choral Director.

Amy is a recent graduate from the University of Leeds with a BA in Music, where she specialised in vocal performance and early music, and explored musicological and sociological connections. In 2021, Amy was granted a Choral Scholarship at the Cathedral which she held for 2 years. She was heavily involved with the Leeds University Union Music Society, participating in most ensembles. In second year she co-managed the Chamber Choir and in her third she conducted the un-auditioned classical choir, Symphonic Choir. Amy‘s musical journey began on the violin aged 7, before she went on to play with many ensembles including the CBSO Youth Orchestra. Amy later discovered her love for singing upon joining the CBSO Children’s and Youth choirs. She has been involved in many exciting choral projects: a number of BBC Proms, European tours and concerts with a variety of renowned conductors/orchestras. As a result of her experiences, Amy‘s ultimate goal is to help singers love the choral scene as much as she does by providing a safe, encouraging and exciting environment.
