Yesterday evening, in this first week of Advent, our Cathedral Senior Girls and Choral Scholars broadcast Compline from Corpus Christi Church (The Parish of Saint John Henry Newman).![]()
The office is sung in Latin, introduced by Mgr Paul Grogan, and along with the traditional chants includes music by Sheppard, Tallis and Byrd.![]()

It was wonderful to welcome Rosemary Downey to St Patrick’s, Huddersfield yesterday to present a Church Choir Award to the choirs on behalf of the Cathedral Music Trust and the Royal School of Church Music.![]()

We’re very grateful for the grant which will support singing lessons for our young singers in the choirs and contribute towards expenses for a forthcoming tour.
Many congratulations to our Cathedral Assistant Organist David Grealy on his appointment as Director of Music for the Catholic Diocese of East Anglia, a post he takes up in January.![]()
David joins a growing list of brilliant young musicians who have gained vital experience in our large programme before moving on to prestigious leadership roles in church music - we're very proud of them all!
