We are delighted to welcome Mason Hirst to the team as a Piano Tutor.
Mason is a pianist, trombonist, accompanist and conductor working in West Yorkshire since coming to study in Leeds in 2017. Mason completed his undergraduate degree at Leeds Conservatoire in 2021. During his time studying, Mason worked closely with other musicians to understand how collaborative music can be. A few highlights were conducting LCSU Camerata, Besbrode Piano Competition finalist and performing Mozart’s piano concerto during his final recital. Aside from the piano, Mason also regularly performs in different ensembles on trombone, playing with groups such as big bands, pit & opera bands, brass bands and function bands.
Mason has been teaching piano in West Yorkshire since 2020 and focuses on creating a holistic view into piano studies and making it relevant for the current young people. He also teaches at Leeds Junior Conservatoire teaching individual & group piano, trombone and theory classes.
