June 20th, 2017 - Quick win strategies for class singing in schools
Quick win strategies for class singing in schools

Music coordinators, class teachers and music leaders may be interested in our forthcoming CPD event, focusing on class singing in KS2.

Well-delivered singing can hugely enhance children's learning, engagement and physical and emotional well-being, but all too often is left to sing alongs with YouTube and CDs in a way that would be unthinkable in other parts of the curriculum. Your staff can sing, and with some simple advice will be able to use the power of song in the classroom.

This 90 minute interactive session covers

An introduction to children’s vocal health
Using your singing voice with confidence
Embedding singing to reinforce learning and enhance transitions
Essential class repertoire
Delivered by staff from our internationally acclaimed Schools Singing Programme

The material will focus on KS2, but will be useful across the primary age range and is suitable for all teachers and school music leaders.

Tuesday 20th June, 5.30-7pm, Wheeler Hall, Leeds Cathedral, St Anne's St, LS2 8BE

The session costs £35 per person, but is FREE to schools taking part in the Diocese's Schools Singing Programme. Discounts are available for more than one booking. Light refreshments are included.
