May 17th, 2016 - Launch of Organists Training Programme
Launch of Organists Training Programme

We were delighted to launch the Diocese of Leeds Organists Training Programme at Mass on Tuesday 17th May. The Bishop presided and opened with words of support for the new programme. It was a pleasure to be joined by Philip Moore and Philip Meaden, President and Chief Executive of the Royal College of Organists, respectively. The partnership with the RCO offers exciting potential, and we look forward very much to working closely with the College and particularly its teaching network.

After Mass, David Pipe gave a brief demonstration of the Cathedral organ, after which members of the Huddersfield boys’ choir and the Cathedral girls’ choir were able to play, joined by the two Cathedral Organ Scholars. We have high expectations that the Organists Training Programme will attract many pupils from the Diocesan choirs, and look forward to welcoming them to the organ over the coming months.

To book lessons with David Pipe please contact the Music Office.
