March 11th, 2016 - BBC Daily Service broadcasts
BBC Daily Service broadcasts

Bradford Catholic Girls' Choir gave two broadcasts of the BBC's long-running Daily Service earlier this week. The choir - who are supported by Holy Family Catholic High School (Keighley) and St. Bede's and St. Joseph's Catholic College (Bradford) and made up of pupils from both schools - set off for Manchester at 5.45am, arriving to rehearse in time for the live broadcast of Tuesday's service. Following this they recorded the music for Wednesday's programme. The services featured arrangements of favourite hymns, the Agnus Dei from Delibes' Messe Breve and S. S. Wesley's anthem 'Love one another'. The organist was Shaun Turnbull. Director of the Schools Singing Programme and the choir's conductor Thomas Leech, said 'We are so delighted with the girls' singing and thrilled that they have the opportunity to broadcast on national radio, performing at such a high level. We have very high expectations of our choirs and we know that the hard work and commitment the children demonstrate has a real impact on their achievement across the board.'
