February 9th, 2014 - Tony Harvey Cathedral Choral Scholar Award
Tony Harvey Cathedral Choral Scholar Award

On Sunday 9th February the Tony Harvey Choral Scholar Award was presented to Isaac England at the 11am Solemn Mass at Leeds Cathedral. The award was made by Michael Wiles, a trustee of The Friends of Cathedral Music. This gift was first made in 2008 from specific instructions in Tony Harvey's will and Isaac is the fourth recipient.

Isaac joined Leeds Cathedral Choir aged seven, becoming a senior chorister in the boys' choir at 11. Now aged 15, he sings first tenor at least five services each week.

The Friends of Cathedral Music is a national charity that supports the living tradition of choral music in Catholic and Anglican Cathedrals. Since its foundation it has gifted over £2 million to cathedral, church and collegiate chapel choirs in the UK and overseas.

Leeds Cathedral is honoured to be one of the churches hosting the National Gathering of the Friends of Cathedral Music on 3rd October this year. Further details can be found at
