May 1st, 2013 - Concert at St Paulinus School Dewsbury
Concert at St Paulinus School Dewsbury

On Monday, the Huddersfield Boys' Choir and Year 5 at St Paulinus Catholic Primary School performed their first concert. The audience was made up of children of their school and parents. Under the direction of Diocesan Choral Director Mrs Lucy Appleyard, they sang a range of music from traditional African songs to Take That. They were accompanied by Mr Tom Leech, who is in charge of the Schools Singing programme run by the Diocese of Leeds. The Schools Singing Programme sees a team of Choral Directors working with over 2500 children a week across the Diocese, providing an excellent musical education.

Head teacher Mrs Roxanna Drake said, "It was fabulous to hear singing of such a high standard from our children. There is so much talent among our pupils. The concert was a wonderful reflection of the artistic side of the school."

The children really enjoyed their first taste of choral performance, and can't wait for the next one!

It was part of a busy week which also saw the Bradford Gala Concert held at Holy Family High School Keighley.
