Fifth Series of Organ Concerts

Fifth Series of Organ Concerts

The details for the fifth season of concerts on some of the most stunning organs in West Yorkshire are now available. The series brings together some of the country's most celebrated organists to entertain and delight audiences.

Concerts include the inaugural recital on the new Peter Collins organ built in 2014 for St Joseph's Church in Wetherby. Also featured are the organs of St Patrick's Huddersfield (built in 2009 by Škrabl of Slovenia) and Leeds Cathedral  - a full-bodied Romantic instrument, built on the Edwardian gravitas of the original 1904 instrument with a touch of magic provided in the reconstruction of 2010 by Klais of Bonn.

Guest perfomers this year are Thomas Moore (Wakefield Cathedral), Philip Meaden (Leeds College of Music), David Saint (St Chad's Cathedral, Birmingham) and the organists of Bradford Cathedral, Alex Woodrow and Paul Bowen. Resident diocesan organists Elizabeth Cockshott, Aaron Shilson Julie Tanner, Daniel Justin, Thomas Leech and Benjamin Saunders will also be playing in the series.
