To date, singing opportunities in the Diocese of Leeds singing programme have been provided largely for children up to the age of 16. As the programme enters into its sixth year, young singers are coming through the school and local area choirs seeking a fresh challenge as they enter sixth form and further education.
In order to provide opportunities in this area, a youth singing weekend was held in February 2009. The young singers met for an intensive singing weekend, culminating with leading at one of the Cathedral's Masses and performing in a concert.
The membership is auditioned and open to pupils in schools across the Diocese. Rehearsals take place at Leeds Cathedral.
