November 23rd, 2011 - Huddersfield Boys Choir in London
The Huddersfield Boys' Choir have just finished a very successful trip to London. This tour, over a long weekend in half term, featured three performances. Firstly they were lucky to have a chance to sing Vigil Mass at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday evening; the boys were inspired by the size of the building, the large congregation and the amazing acoustic. This was followed by Sunday Mass at St. Patrick's Church in Plumstead, where the warmth of the welcome and the kindness of the parish (and a large Sunday lunch and the four tins of Quality Street) was enormously appreciated. Finally they performed a lunchtime concert in the Temple Church, where a very appreciative audience enjoyed music from our own Catholic tradition, through other Christian and Spiritual music, to new concert and festival repertoire, where the boys sang beautifully in two and three parts.
