In November 2008 a new auditioned boys' choir in Huddersfield was founded. The Huddersfield Boys' Choir now has 24 boys from 8 schools.
It sings Mass at St. Patrick's on Sundays on alternate weeks. The boys have also sung concerts in various locations around the Huddersfield area, including shared concerts with two adult choirs in 2010. They sang Mass at Nottingham Cathedral in 2009, and in 2010 were placed in the prestigious Mrs. Sunderland festival in Huddersfield Town Hall. Future plans include singing at Liverpool Metropoltan Cathedral in March and a short tour to London in the Summer. The choir also sang for the Pope in the Mass in Birmingham at which John Henry Newman was beatified.
The boys are trained by Choral Director Keith Roberts and rehearse weekly in Huddersfield.
