In November 2008 a new auditioned boys' choir in Huddersfield was founded. Initially recruited from St. Patrick's, St. Joseph's and Our Lady of Lourdes primary schools in Huddersfield, as well as St. Joseph's school in Brighouse, the Huddersfield Boys' Choir now has 22 boys from 8 schools.
It sings Mass at St. Patrick's, and has already entered the Mrs. Sunderland competition, sung at Chrism Mass and a concert in St. Joseph's Bradford and Leeds Cathedral.
The boys are trained by Choral Director Keith Roberts and rehearse weekly in Huddersfield.
